10-year-old in Tavares dies from severe abuse injuries

A 10-year-old boy from Tavares has died after suffering extreme abuse. He was brought to an emergency room unconscious, and police describe his treatment as "unimaginable." The police department expressed deep sorrow over the child's death, noting the significant impact on the community. Detective Courtney Sullivan stated that the couple accused of the abuse, Kimberley Mills and Andre Walker, are expected to face enhanced charges soon. Since being admitted to Advent Health Waterman, doctors discovered multiple bruises, burns, and signs of sexual abuse on the boy. Internal bleeding was also found in his abdomen. Both Mills and Walker are already charged with aggravated child abuse, neglect, and tampering with evidence. A judge has denied bail for Walker. Furthermore, police revealed that the boy's younger brother is also a victim and has provided information about the situation in their home.
