11 arrested in Madhya Pradesh for police officer's murder
At least 11 people have been arrested in Madhya Pradesh following the killing of Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramcharan Gautam. The police are conducting search operations to find more suspects involved in the incident, which occurred during a rescue attempt of an abducted man. The altercation began when members of the Kol tribe allegedly abducted Sunny Dwivedi, accusing him of causing a tribal man's death. When police intervened, they were attacked, resulting in Gautam's death and injuries to other officers. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a ₹1 crore ex gratia for Gautam's family and stated he would be honored as a martyr. The situation in the area is reportedly stabilizing, with police enforcing public order measures.
