13-year-old girl raped in Vadali village, Rajkot

A 13-year-old girl was raped in Vadali village, near Rajkot. The incident occurred on March 15. The girl, who is in eighth grade, went to school for an exam but did not come home afterward. Her family reported her missing when they could not find her. The girl’s family later discovered that she had been in contact with a man from Vadali. She returned home the next day and told her family what had happened. The man had taken her from a nearby crossroads to a garden and then to his village, where he assaulted her. The girl sometimes worked with the catering service where the accused was employed. They had exchanged phone numbers and communicated through social media. The girl's father, who is a 48-year-old painter, filed a complaint with the police. The man has been charged under the relevant laws, including the Pocso Act.
