13-year-old student dies by suicide in Chhatarpur, MP
A 13-year-old boy in Chhatarpur district has died by suicide after being insulted and assaulted by a local shopkeeper. The incident reportedly occurred when the boy, Anshu Ahirwar, visited the shop to buy some items. The shopkeeper, Ram Shukla, allegedly shouted caste-based insults at him and physically attacked him. Anshu’s father, Kishora Ahirwar, said that after the incident, Anshu returned home and told his younger brother about what happened. Later, he went to his room and tragically took his own life. The family and members of the Bhim Army are now calling for the shopkeeper’s arrest and a thorough investigation into the matter. They have also submitted a formal complaint to the police. Protests took place at Chhatrasal Square, with demonstrators demanding justice for Anshu. Police have promised to investigate the incident. The boy's body has been sent for a postmortem, and the family is seeking a second autopsy. Chhattarpur Superintendent of Police, Agam Jain, confirmed that an inquiry is underway.
