1,343 cases filed in Kerala CSR funds scam

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that 1,343 cases have been registered in a scam involving fake corporate social responsibility funds. The accused collected ₹281.43 crore from 49,386 people, promising scooters and laptops at half price. Only a fraction of the promised items were delivered. Out of those who paid for scooters, only 16,438 received them. For laptops, 29,897 were delivered, while 53,478 received sewing machines out of 56,082 who paid. The investigation is ongoing, with 665 cases handed to the Crime Branch. The police have identified 23 bank accounts linked to the accused, and court proceedings to attach their property have started.
