1.4 million youths trained; 566,000 secured jobs
The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has trained over 14 lakh youths since 2017-18. This program aims to equip young people with skills for employment. More than 5.5 lakh of these trained individuals have found direct jobs. In addition to training, the government has organized 40 job fairs. These events helped 77,055 young people secure jobs. A government spokesperson highlighted these achievements as part of a broader goal to make youth self-reliant. To mark eight years in office, the UP Kaushal Vikas Mission will showcase its successes at a series of state-wide events from March 25-27. The program has focused on creating new job opportunities through skill development. The government also emphasizes empowering women. It has provided sewing and embroidery training to over 27,000 women in 45 districts. Additionally, 38 specialized institutes have been included to support skill development for people with disabilities. The state collaborates with 24 major industries to align training with market needs. The Kaushal Vikas program has won several awards, including the 'Best State in Skilling Award'. In June 2018, a regional skill competition was held for the first time, inviting participants from Uttar Pradesh and four other states. This event highlighted the government's commitment to skill development.
