15-year-old assaults IPS officer with axe in Nagpur

A 15-year-old boy attacked an IPS officer, Niketan Kadam, with an axe during riots in Nagpur. This incident occurred on Tuesday when Kadam and his team were handling a situation in Hansapuri. Witnesses say the teenager targeted Kadam's neck, but the officer managed to defend himself. He suffered serious injuries to his hand instead. After the attack, Kadam was taken to New Era Hospital for emergency surgery and is now recovering. Kadam and 11 other police officers were deployed in the area when they became trapped in a building. A mob of about 250 to 300 rioters surrounded them and started throwing stones. As they tried to escape, the young attacker aimed to harm them further. Emergency reinforcements arrived and helped evacuate Kadam and his team, while also dispersing the crowd. The situation is under investigation.
