15,000 oyster cracker cases recalled for contamination
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of over 15,000 cases of oyster crackers due to the potential presence of stainless steel wire. The recall was issued by Shearer’s Foods LLC on February 21. These oyster crackers were sold at major retailers including Target, Walmart, and Giant Eagle. The affected products carry brand names such as Market Pantry, Great Value, Giant Eagle, and VISTA. The recalled crackers were distributed across several states, including Alabama, California, Florida, and New York, among others. Consumers who bought these products are advised not to eat them. The FDA recommends that anyone in possession of the recalled crackers discard them or return them for a refund or exchange. This recall is classified as Class II, indicating that eating the crackers might lead to temporary health issues.
