16-year-old charged for stabbing Vancouver taxi driver
A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the stabbing of a taxi driver in Vancouver. This incident took place last Tuesday in the Downtown Eastside area. According to Vancouver Police, an off-duty officer witnessed the stabbing at the intersection of Main and Hastings streets. The officer quickly informed on-duty police, who then arrested the teenager. The young suspect is facing several charges, including assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and assault causing bodily harm. He lives in Richmond, B.C., and has since been granted bail and released from custody. The taxi driver, who is 59 years old, suffered injuries that are not life-threatening. He received medical treatment at a hospital after the attack.
