A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl and forcing her to have an abortion. The police began investigating after a burned foetus was found in a garbage dump near NTR Garden. According to the police, the girl met the boy through social media and they became friends. He promised her love and marriage, but he later assaulted her. When she became pregnant, he gave her pills to end the pregnancy. After using the pills, she faced complications and gave birth at home. The boy then instructed the girl to discard the foetus in the garbage and set it on fire. Following this, the police received a report about the burning foetus on March 17. They identified the girl through CCTV footage and other evidence. During questioning, the girl admitted to having delivered a stillborn baby. The boy was later found at his home in Nalgonda, where he was arrested for charges including rape and cheating under the Pocso Act. As he is a minor, he was taken to a juvenile justice board. The girl has been moved for counselling, and forensic tests are being conducted on the foetus.
