17-year-old arrested in Scranton for weapons and fentanyl
A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Scranton, Pennsylvania, for possessing altered automatic weapons and dealing fentanyl. The district attorney's office announced the arrest on Saturday. Law enforcement found multiple dangerous firearms at his home and about 300 rounds of ammunition. According to District Attorney Brian J. Gallagher, the boy had modified Glock handguns to fire fully automatically. He also had a Draco AK-47 style firearm and a Taurus handgun, loaded with ammunition. Gallagher noted a worrying trend of minors committing firearm offenses, especially with modified weapons. The arrest followed a drug purchase from the juvenile's residence. Authorities also seized fentanyl pills and a digital scale during a search. The district attorney emphasized a strong commitment to tackling firearm and drug crimes in the community. After his arrest, the juvenile was placed in a detention facility. The district attorney's office did not release the boy's name due to privacy laws regarding minors.
