180 health ambassadors recognized in Ranchi ceremony
Ranchi: On Thursday, 180 health ambassadors from five successful schools were honored for their work in promoting adolescent health. This recognition happened at the Sadar hospital auditorium. The event was part of the school health and welfare programme (SHWP). The honored ambassadors included both students and teachers from these schools. The event was organized under the national adolescent health programme and the national health mission (NHM). It was coordinated by the health and education departments, with support from the centre for catalysing change (C-3). Dignitaries at the ceremony included civil surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar and district education officials. They acknowledged the efforts of the five schools in raising health awareness. The speakers emphasized the importance of the SHWP in building life skills, encouraging positive peer relationships, and enhancing decision-making abilities. They also noted that these initiatives help reduce dropout rates and improve student retention. Moreover, they contribute to better mental well-being and enhance learning outcomes among students.
