19-year-old arrested after stolen car police chase
A dramatic police chase occurred in Oldham, Greater Manchester, involving an allegedly stolen car. The chase began around 10:30 PM on Sunday. Police spotted the vehicle shortly after it was reported stolen. The 19-year-old driver sped away from the police and entered oncoming traffic. Dashcam footage shows the car driving the wrong way on the A627. Eventually, the driver swerved off the road and crashed into railings. After the crash, the driver exited the car and tried to escape on foot. Police arrested him on several charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a knife, and possession of drugs. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a machete and drugs. An inspector commented that the driver had shown a dangerous disregard for public safety. Fortunately, no one was injured during the chase. Police continue to investigate the incident.
