Police in Colorado have arrested a man connected to the shooting death of 19-year-old Maria Kapustin last summer. Cougar L. Devereaux Jr., also 19, was taken into custody in Greeley on Tuesday. He had been wanted for months due to a warrant issued after Kapustin was killed in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in July on West Courtland Avenue, near Emerson Park. Officers found Kapustin with a gunshot wound to her torso. Her boyfriend described her as "the strongest, most beautiful, independent, sweetest girl ever," saying she didn't deserve such a fate. Maria's sister, Viktoriya Kapustina, expressed relief about the arrest on Facebook. She thanked supporters for their prayers and hoped for a smooth process in the case. Devereaux Jr. will be extradited back to Washington for a court hearing.
