19-year-old charged for driving 200 km/h in Ontario

A 19-year-old man has been charged after a police helicopter spotted him driving at over 200 kilometers per hour on Highway 401. This incident occurred on March 14 in Whitby, Ontario. The Durham regional police shared video footage captured by the Air1 helicopter during a routine patrol. In the video, the car is seen speeding and rapidly changing lanes to pass other vehicles. The high-speed chase ended when the driver exited at Taunton Road, near Highway 412. Police managed to locate the vehicle and arrested the young man soon after. He is facing charges for careless driving and performing a stunt while driving. As part of the penalties, his driver's license has been suspended for 30 days, and the car will be impounded for 14 days. The man has been released with a promise to appear in court.
