2016 £1 coin could sell for £60 at auction
A coin expert has identified a detail on the 2016 £1 coin that could increase its auction value to £60. This detail, a tiny crosslet cross, is found near the rim and was only added to special sets. The new £1 coin was introduced in 2017, replacing the old round pound. Coins minted in 2016 are considered more valuable if they have this specific mark; those without it are worth only face value. Additionally, the Rainbow Pride 50p coin, released in 2022, can be worth up to £155 if it has a minting error. This error features the rainbow design mistakenly imprinted on the coin's head, making it rare among collectors.
