22-year-old Karan Kumar arrested for mobile phone theft

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for stealing a mobile phone in Chandigarh. The man, named Karan Kumar, lives in Dashmesh Nagar. He was caught in Nayagaon, Mohali, and the police recovered the stolen phone from him. The incident took place on February 13, when a 19-year-old worker named Monu was biking home after his shift at Free Wonder Café. He reported that two men on a motorcycle snatched his phone and ₹ 500 while he was cycling on the Nayagaon-Kansal road. Police received a tip-off and arrested Karan on March 19. Investigations showed that Karan and his friends were involved in thefts to support their expensive lifestyle and drug habits. Karan has a criminal record, including charges of rape and another theft incident at the Nayagaon police station.
