22-year-old killed in suspected DUI crash in Arlington
A 22-year-old man died in a crash in Arlington, Texas on Saturday night. Police reported that his car was struck by a suspected drunk driver, causing it to catch fire. The incident occurred around 7:39 p.m. on I-20 near Bowen Drive. When officers arrived, they found the victim's car fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire and discovered the deceased man inside the vehicle. According to investigators, the victim's car had been stopped on the highway shoulder when a Ford F-150 truck hit it from behind. The impact caused the car to collide with a concrete wall before igniting. Witnesses said they saw three men leave the pickup truck and flee the scene. Police later detained all three. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Cesar Ramirez Castro, is suspected of being intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and a collision involving death. The two passengers in the truck, 30-year-old Marcelino Ramirez-Ramirez and 24-year-old Daniel Castro Zammarron, were also arrested for public intoxication. The identity of the victim has not been released yet.
