25-year-old arrested in stabbing of elderly woman
A 25-year-old man was arrested at Manchester Airport nearly two weeks after an elderly woman was stabbed in her front garden. The attack occurred on March 6 as the victim, who is in her 70s, was gardening at her home in Middleton, Greater Manchester. Police described the incident as "unprovoked." The victim was stabbed in the neck by an unknown attacker who then fled the scene. Armed police quickly responded, and a nearby primary school was put on lockdown to protect children in the area.
