27 CCTV cameras installed in San Isidro, Negros Occidental
Residents of the village of San Isidro in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, are feeling safer after the installation of 27 CCTV cameras. The cameras were funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at a cost of P892,040. This project is part of the KALAHI-CIDSS-PAMANA program, which aims to improve safety and reduce poverty in communities. Barangay captain Ronnie Loro expressed gratitude to DSWD for the new installations. He noted that the CCTV footage could help in investigating crimes and identifying suspects. The cameras were placed in key locations such as Hacienda TCG and Hacienda Sta. Isabel. The project was inaugurated recently, marking a significant step toward enhancing community safety. Emy Lyn Hibionada, a municipal social welfare officer, highlighted the milestone for Barangay San Isidro. The Kalahi-CIDSS-PAMANA program also seeks to improve the economic conditions of marginalized groups in the area. In addition to the CCTV project, a new bridge in Sitio Calaptan is helping students cross the river to reach school more easily. This bridge, built by the Department of Public Works and Highways, cost P24.7 million and improves access to the farthest village, Barangay Canlusong, through San Isidro.
