Police in Dadu have charged 34 social media users for spreading false information about bomb blasts in the area. This action was confirmed by the Dadu Superintendent of Police, Ameer Saud Magsi, on Wednesday. The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the suspects under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) 2016. A spokesperson for the Dadu police advised the public to verify information before sharing, noting that the false news had caused panic in the city. Magsi stated that 30 raiding teams are prepared to arrest the suspects. He emphasized that sharing unverified news is a crime under Section 20 of the Peca Act. A request for further action has also been sent to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). This incident comes amid an increase in terrorism incidents in the country, especially in regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The FIA recently arrested a suspect in Islamabad connected to an anti-state campaign related to a train attack.
