39 mini-bus routes approved in Erode

On Tuesday, Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara issued orders to applicants for operating mini-buses on 39 routes in Erode district. This follows a government order from January 23, 2025, which identified 65 new routes under the New Comprehensive Minibus Scheme 2024. By March 15, 88 applications had been submitted for these routes. Notably, one application was received for 25 routes, while multiple applications came in for 14 routes that were contested. To handle these applications, a committee was established. The committee was led by the Collector and included Regional Transport Officers and other officials from the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation. On March 18, a draw of lots was held to select 14 applicants for the contested routes. After this process, the Collector presented the orders to all successful applicants for the 39 routes in the district.
