41 dogs rescued from unsanitary conditions in New Brunswick
The New Brunswick SPCA has rescued 41 dogs from very poor living conditions. This rescue took place in northeastern New Brunswick last Thursday. Among the dogs, there were 25 adults and 16 puppies. All the dogs were taken from the property and are now receiving medical care. They will stay in foster homes until they are well. Lesley Rogers, the executive director of the NBSPCA, mentioned that the dogs are already improving thanks to proper grooming and medical attention, but they will need further treatment to recover fully. The veterinary expenses for the dogs have already reached $6,000. The SPCA expects these costs to increase as the treatments continue. Currently, the dogs are not available for adoption, and an investigation into the situation is still ongoing. This rescue comes at a time when the NBSPCA has seen a 20 percent increase in animal protection investigations compared to early 2024. Those who want to help with the rehabilitation costs can donate on the NBSPCA website or by calling their office.
