49ers might trade for Eagles pass rusher Bryce Huff
The San Francisco 49ers have lost several key players during free agency. As a result, they are looking for ways to rebuild their defense. NFL Analyst Matt Bowen mentioned the 49ers as a team that needs to make changes after losing stars like Leonard Floyd and Talanoa Hufanga. Bowen suggested that the 49ers could trade for Bryce Huff, a pass rusher from the Philadelphia Eagles. Huff had a strong season for the New York Jets, recording 10 sacks in 2023 under defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who is now with the 49ers. Huff recently signed a three-year deal worth $51 million with the Eagles. Last season, he played in only 12 games and had 2.5 sacks. With Saleh back in San Francisco, trading for Huff could be a strategic move for the 49ers. The team has 11 draft picks in the upcoming NFL Draft. This gives them the ability to make a trade to acquire Huff while his value is relatively low. At 26 years old, Huff could be an excellent addition to the 49ers' defensive line.
