A recent survey shows that more than half of Europeans view U.S. President Donald Trump as an "enemy of Europe." The survey, conducted in the EU's eight largest countries and Denmark, found that 51% of respondents share this opinion. The survey was commissioned by Le Grand Continent and Cluster 17 and included over 10,000 people. It aimed to understand European attitudes towards transatlantic relations and security issues before a European Council summit. It revealed that 63% of participants believe Trump’s election has made the world less safe. Only 13% of respondents think Trump respects democratic principles. Meanwhile, 43% perceive him as having authoritarian tendencies, and 39% view him as acting like a dictator. The survey also indicated a negative view of billionaire advisor Elon Musk, with almost 80% of citizens stating he cannot be trusted. Almost half of respondents from Belgium, Denmark, and France suggest boycotting Tesla's electric cars. Regarding security concerns, 55% believe there is a high risk of armed conflict in Europe soon. Eastern European countries, such as Romania and Poland, express the greatest concern. However, these nations tend to trust Trump more than those in Western Europe. Only 10% think the EU can rely on Trump’s America for security. In contrast, 70% say the EU must depend on its own resources. Most respondents favor the idea of a common European military, but opinions on whether this should involve national armies or a united force are mixed.
