5,800 houses to be distributed in Namakkal
In Namakkal, 5,800 new houses will be given to people under the Kalaignar Kanavu Illam scheme. This initiative is valued at ₹204.74 crore. Rajya Sabha member K.R.N. Rajeshkumar made the announcement on Saturday during a welfare event at the district Collectorate. At the same event, ₹2 crore was distributed to support 217 beneficiaries. This included petrol scooters, sewing machines, phones, and gold coins for marriages. Seventy scooters were provided for the differently-abled, costing a total of ₹77 lakh. Other distributed items included sewing machines for 75 beneficiaries and phones for 10. Mr. Rajeshkumar noted that schemes introduced by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin are being copied by other states. He emphasized the importance of the Kalaignar Kanavu Illam scheme in fulfilling the dreams of poorer citizens. He also mentioned that construction of the new houses in Namakkal is already underway. In addition to the housing scheme, 270 scooters were given to differently-abled individuals. Farmers affected by stray dog attacks received compensation of ₹81,000 for lost cattle. Local officials and community leaders attended the event to show their support.
