64 kg of pangolin scales seized in Mizoram

The Assam Rifles and Mizoram Forest Department seized 64 kg of Indian pangolin scales, valued at Rs 64 lakh, near the India-Myanmar border. Two individuals were arrested during the operation in Champhai district. The operation took place at Zokhawthar, based on specific intelligence. The scales were packed in five cartons and were intended for smuggling into Myanmar. The arrested individuals, Rosiamliana and Nazarene Thanga, are from Zokhawthar. They and the seized scales have been handed over to the Forest Department for further investigation.
