82% of headteachers faced parental abuse last year
A recent survey by the National Association of Head Teachers found that 82% of headteachers have experienced abuse from parents in the past year. This includes physical violence, verbal attacks, and online trolling. The survey revealed that 85% of headteachers faced verbal abuse, while 68% reported threatening behavior. More than a third of school leaders experience such incidents monthly, with 86% noting an increase in parental abuse over the past three years. Online harassment has become a significant issue, with school leaders targeted in social media campaigns. The findings highlight concerns about the safety and wellbeing of educators, prompting calls for better protections against abuse.
