A4 Portway closed after person falls, traffic congested

The A4 Portway has been closed by police after a report of a person falling from a height. The closure affects both directions of the road, from Bridge Valley Road to Hotwells. Emergency services arrived on the scene shortly before 3:45 PM today, March 23. They are currently addressing the situation. Traffic is heavily congested, with queues extending over a mile on the Portway. Long delays are also reported in Hotwells and on Brunel Way as drivers look for alternate routes. Buses are being rerouted due to the closure. TravelWest has informed passengers about changes in bus services to avoid the blocked area. Avon and Somerset police have been contacted for more information, and a response is expected soon.
