AAP launches financial aid scheme for women ahead of Delhi assembly elections
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is preparing for the Delhi assembly elections in early 2025 by introducing a new financial aid scheme for women. This initiative, called the 'Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana,' will provide Rs 1,000 monthly, with plans to double it after the elections. The scheme aims to attract around 45 lakh eligible women voters, as AAP seeks to replicate successful strategies seen in recent elections in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The party has allocated Rs 2,000 crore for this program, which targets women not employed by the government or paying taxes. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi announced that registration for the scheme will start soon. AAP hopes this move will help secure over 60 seats in the upcoming elections, where they will compete primarily against the BJP.
