AB Agri fined for safety violations in workplace accident
bbc.com —
AB Agri Ltd has been fined £566,000 after a worker's arm was severed in a conveyor belt incident in November 2021. The company pleaded guilty to violating health and safety laws. The employee, Bartosz Gaj, was injured while clearing a blockage. An investigation revealed that the conveyor had been installed shortly before the incident and was prone to blockages. The Health and Safety Executive found that workers were not properly trained to handle blockages. Additionally, a risk assessment had not been updated after the new conveyor was installed.
