Abandoned dog Jade seeks new home in Kansas
A 3-year-old dog named Jade is in search of a new home after being abandoned just three days after her adoption. Jade, a shepherd mix, was adopted from a shelter in Olathe, Kansas, in December 2024. Unfortunately, animal control officers found her alone soon after, along with a note saying she was "looking for a good home to avoid pound." Now, Jade is under the care of the Great Plains SPCA, a nonprofit organization in Kansas that helps rescue animals find loving homes. A spokesperson from the organization stated that Jade was stressed when she first arrived. To help her, she spent a month in a foster home where she adjusted well. The Great Plains SPCA has been actively promoting Jade on social media to increase her chances of adoption. They describe her as a loving and playful dog who enjoys chew toys and gets along well with other dogs. She has also been seen smiling in photos taken during her time in the foster home. Jade weighs 66 pounds and is trained to follow several commands. The organization advises that she would thrive best in a home without small children or smaller pets. They are optimistic that Jade will do well in a forever home when she is adopted. To find out more about how to adopt Jade, interested individuals can visit the Great Plains SPCA's website.
