Abandoned puppy Oscar found malnourished in Mississippi

A woman in Mississippi discovered a 6-week-old puppy abandoned near a dumpster on March 17. Lisa Reams, who runs Saving Grace Animal Rescue, found the little black puppy, named Oscar, while walking home from work in Yazoo City. The puppy appeared weak and was lying in dirt without any food or water. Reams reported that Oscar showed no physical injuries but was severely malnourished and dehydrated. He was infested with worms and needed immediate care. After taking him home, Reams cleaned him up and took him to the vet, who confirmed his age and treated him for hookworms and roundworms. Initially, Oscar was shy and scared. However, he began to gain confidence and has started to play more in Reams' care. She documented his rescue and recovery on TikTok, where her video quickly went viral, gaining over 4.5 million views and nearly 577,000 likes. Many viewers expressed shock and sadness over Oscar's situation and praised Reams for her kindness. While she loves Oscar and wishes to keep him, she plans to foster him until she can find him a permanent home.
