Abrams ComicArts launches Kana imprint with heartfelt manga Scars Volume 1

Abrams ComicArts has launched a new manga imprint called Kana, starting with "Scars Volume 1." This coming-of-age story by debut author Brandon Arias explores themes of childhood trauma, bullying, and identity. The manga follows two high school students, Kyonosuke and Akira, in a rural Japanese village. Kyonosuke faces bullying after an accident leaves him scarred, while Akira struggles with gender dysphoria and abuse at home. "Scars Volume 1" is now available in comic shops and bookstores. The series aims to address complex issues through the characters' journey of love and self-acceptance.
