Abu Dhabi temple hosts interfaith Ramadan celebration
Abu Dhabi's BAPS Hindu Mandir held a special event this week to celebrate Ramadan. The interfaith cultural evening was named Omsiyyat. It was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and other respected leaders and ambassadors. Around 200 people joined the event, including religious leaders, government officials, and diplomats from the UAE and other countries. The temple is known for promoting peace and harmony among different cultures and faiths. The gathering focused on values like friendship and unity during the holy month of fasting. The evening included cultural performances, speeches, and prayers led by Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami, the temple’s head. The event aimed to deepen respect and understanding among various faith communities. It ended with a vegetarian suhoor featuring both Indian and Arabic dishes. Last month, the temple celebrated its first anniversary. Another interfaith event is planned for April 2024 during Ramadan.
