Activists file second impeachment complaint against Philippine Vice President Duterte over fund misuse
Activists in the Philippines have filed a second impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, accusing her of misusing 612.5 million pesos ($10.3 million) in government funds. They demand she be barred from public office permanently. This complaint follows an earlier one filed on Monday, which included various allegations, such as threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and involvement in extrajudicial killings. The House of Representatives, dominated by Marcos's allies, will review the complaints. Duterte has faced scrutiny over her spending during the Christmas holidays and has been involved in a criminal investigation regarding her threats. The impeachment process may take weeks or months, with Congress set to recess on December 20.
