Actor Anna Rene Moore sentenced to 90 months in prison for multi-million-dollar fraud

A federal judge sentenced actor Anna Rene Moore to 90 months in prison for her role in a multi-million-dollar fraud against a mentally ill doctor, Mark Sawusch. This sentence is significantly longer than the 41 months recommended by prosecutors. Judge Percy Anderson criticized Moore for her actions, calling her a "predator" and stating that she exploited a vulnerable victim. Moore pleaded guilty to seven felonies, including conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering. Moore and her ex-boyfriend, Anthony David Flores, manipulated Sawusch, gaining power of attorney during a mental health crisis. They used his funds for personal expenses and continued to withdraw money after his death in 2018. Both have been ordered to pay $1 million in restitution.
