Adamawa governor launches skills program with monthly stipends
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced a new program to help youth and women gain technical skills. This initiative will provide vocational training and a monthly stipend of N10,000. The program, called the Technical Skills Acquisition and Trade Programme, will revive ten Skills Acquisition Centers throughout the state. These centers will offer training in various fields, such as mechanical engineering, fashion design, and automotive mechanics. The goal is to enhance skills that meet current job market needs and promote entrepreneurship. Training will be available in three different formats: short-term (3 months), intermediate (6 months), and advanced (1 year). Participants can earn certificates upon completion of their training. The government sees this program as a key investment in the future of Adamawa State. It aims to reduce unemployment and ensure that graduates can either secure jobs or start their own businesses.
