Adani Energy wins Rs 2,800 crore Gujarat transmission project

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has won a power transmission project worth about Rs 2,800 crore in Gujarat. This project will support the production of green hydrogen and ammonia in Mundra. It aims to upgrade the power infrastructure in the region and is expected to be finished within 36 months. The initiative, named "Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra," involves significant upgrades, including two new transformers at the Navinal electrical substation. A 75 km-long transmission line will also be built to connect Navinal to Bhuj. With this project, AESL's transmission network will expand significantly. The company will add 150 cKM of new lines and boost its transformation capacity by 3,000 MVA. This brings AESL's total network to 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA. This project is AESL's sixth major order this fiscal year, raising its total order book to approximately Rs 57,561 crore. The project was secured through a competitive bidding process and the official transfer to AESL occurred on March 20, 2025. This development supports India's goal to advance green hydrogen production and reduce carbon emissions. Gujarat, and particularly Mundra, is becoming a key area for renewable energy development. With this new project, AESL strengthens its position as a leading player in India's energy sector.
