Adaptability is essential for survival in modern warfare

General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), emphasized the importance of adaptability in modern warfare. He stated that success in today's conflicts relies on the ability to change and take advantage of new opportunities, rather than just physical fitness. He shared these thoughts while speaking to students at the Higher Defence Management Course at the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad. General Chauhan's talk focused on national security and the need for change in military management. He stressed the importance of resilience and strong leadership in response to shifting global power dynamics, emerging security threats, and technological advancements. He pointed out the role of artificial intelligence and other disruptive technologies in shaping current security challenges. General Chauhan also discussed the Department of Military Affairs and its efforts to improve collaboration and efficiency among the armed forces. He laid out plans for a transformative year ahead, including Vision 2047 for the military and the development of new defence strategies.
