AFCEA honors 2025 Intelligence Community Award winners
AFCEA International has announced the winners of the 2025 Intelligence Community Award. This award recognizes individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to defense scientific and technical intelligence. The award was created last year to highlight the importance of innovation in intelligence work. The winners will be honored during the AFCEA Spring Intelligence Symposium on April 2, 2025. Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, will give a keynote speech at the event. Dr. Lisa Costa is this year's individual award winner. She is recognized for her work in space intelligence analysis and the advancement of military intelligence and innovation. Dr. Costa has focused on applying new technologies in cybersecurity and intelligence on a global scale. The team award goes to the Project LOWGROUND Development Team. This team is responsible for developing advanced signals intelligence technology for the U.S. Army. The team consists of members from various organizations, including the Defense Department and the intelligence community. Lewis Shepherd, chair of the AFCEA Intelligence committee, praised the team's achievements. He noted that their work has significantly enhanced the Army's capabilities in detecting and tracking targets. AFCEA International is a nonprofit organization that connects military, government, and industry professionals. Established in 1946, it provides networking and educational opportunities to support those who serve in these sectors.
