Afghanistan faces measles outbreak with daily child deaths
Afghanistan is experiencing a significant increase in measles cases, with hospitals reporting at least one child dying daily since January. This marks nearly three times the deaths compared to the same period last year. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has noted over 4,700 suspected measles cases in just eight weeks. The low vaccination coverage in the country is a major concern, prompting calls for urgent immunization efforts. The World Health Organization has also raised alarms about measles outbreaks in Europe and America. Community-level vaccination initiatives are recommended to help control the spread of the virus.
