AI and digital tech can benefit Indian farmers
The three-day platinum jubilee conference of the Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics (ISAS) recently concluded in Pusa. It was hosted by Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU). Over 250 experts from 21 states attended the event. Indramani Mishra, vice-chancellor of Marathwada Agricultural University, spoke at the closing session. He emphasized the importance of adopting new technologies in farming. According to him, these advancements can lead to sustainable practices and better decision-making for farmers. He also mentioned that farmers need to use technology to face challenges brought on by climate change. P S Pandey, the vice-chancellor of RPCAU, highlighted recent policies aimed at improving agricultural education. He discussed the need for innovative research methods, including new experimental designs. These improvements can enhance the accuracy of agricultural studies. Pandey also noted the role of AI-based tools like Udli, GoReact, and ChatGPT. He believes these tools can enhance education by offering real-time feedback and personalized learning. The dean of the College of Basic Science and Humanities at RPCAU, Amresh Chandra, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
