AI literacy leads rising job skills in the U.S
A recent LinkedIn study shows that by 2030, 70% of the skills used in most jobs will change due to artificial intelligence (AI). The study highlights AI literacy as the top skill on the rise in the U.S. It also notes that many job titles today did not exist 15 years ago. For example, about 20% of jobs in the U.S. have new titles that were non-existent in 2000. One of the fastest-growing roles is Artificial Intelligence Engineer, according to the report. LinkedIn lists 15 skills that are increasing in demand. These skills include conflict mitigation, innovative thinking, public speaking, and large language model development. The study reveals a significant uptick in professionals learning new skills. Since 2022, LinkedIn members have increased the number of skills on their profiles by 140%. This growth includes both technical skills and soft skills like communication and leadership. Organizations are also prioritizing skill development. According to a LinkedIn report, 51% of businesses that adopted generative AI saw a revenue increase of at least 10%. Furthermore, 88% of C-suite leaders believe it is essential to help workers develop AI skills in the coming year. However, finding employees with a strong combination of AI skills and soft skills remains challenging for many companies. Communication skills were the most sought-after abilities in 2024, reflecting ongoing demand in the job market.
