AICTE designates 2025 as Year of AI to boost India's global leadership in technology

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has declared 2025 as the "Year of Artificial Intelligence" to enhance India's position in the global AI landscape. This initiative will affect over 14,000 colleges and 40 million students. AICTE has urged institutions to submit AI implementation plans by December 31, 2024. Institutions are encouraged to adopt measures such as updating curricula, conducting workshops, and partnering with AI companies to provide students with real-world experience. AICTE will recognize top-performing institutions as models of AI excellence. Colleges are already integrating AI topics into their courses and training faculty to better prepare students for the job market.
