Air quality worsens to very poor levels across Uttar Pradesh after Diwali
Air quality in Uttar Pradesh worsened significantly after Diwali. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Lucknow rose from 182 on Thursday to 306 on Friday, marking a shift from moderate to very poor levels. Other cities also experienced similar increases. Kanpur's AQI jumped from 131 on Diwali to 289, while Meerut's rose from 202 to 294. Ghaziabad's AQI increased from 273 to 306. Experts attribute the rise in pollution to heightened human activities during the festive season. Six monitoring stations in Lucknow are tracking air quality, especially during peak pollution hours on Diwali night.
