Aisling Bea highlights political challenges as she hosts comedy fundraiser for Hackney Foodbank

Aisling Bea will host her third annual comedy fundraiser for Hackney Foodbank this weekend, responding to a 30% increase in demand for food assistance. The event includes comedy shows and encourages attendees to bring food donations. The fundraiser begins on December 21 at The Bill Murray Comedy Club, followed by shows on December 22 at EartH in Dalston. Last year, the event raised over £17,000 and provided 211 emergency food parcels. Bea expressed concern over the lack of humanity in politics, highlighting the struggles faced by families and the elderly. She noted that many former donors now rely on foodbanks themselves, emphasizing the growing need for community support.
