Ajit Pawar criticized Eknath Shinde in resurfaced video

Mumbai: Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, faced criticism this week after an old video of him resurfaced. In the video, Pawar criticizes fellow Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, calling him a "traitor." Comedian Kunal Kamra shared this video on social media platform X. He refused to apologize for his remarks, saying they matched Pawar's past statements about Shinde. Sanjay Raut, a Member of Parliament from the Shiv Sena (UBT), also shared the video, drawing attention to the similarities. In the old clip, Pawar mentions a phrase suggesting acceptance of corruption. He emphasizes that even children recognize a "traitor," referring to Shinde. On Tuesday, when asked about the video, Pawar defended himself. He stated that his comments were appropriate for his role in the opposition at that time but said they do not apply now.
