Akaal to be first Hindi-distributed Punjabi film
Hina Khan recently praised Gippy Grewal for his vision in Punjabi cinema. His upcoming film, Akaal, will make history as the first Punjabi movie to be distributed in Hindi across India. Hina and Gippy's friendship began during their work on Shinde Shinde No Papa. They recently got together, sharing joyful moments with fans. In an emotional Instagram post, Hina thanked Gippy and his wife for their support during her health struggles. She expressed her appreciation for their kind prayers before her surgery. Hina highlighted Gippy's commitment to connecting Punjabi cinema with Bollywood, especially with the release of Akaal, which is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. She congratulated Gippy for his efforts to elevate Punjabi films and wished him success with Akaal. Gippy not only stars in Akaal but also directs and writes the film. The cast includes Nimrat Khaira and several other actors. Gippy mentioned that the movie aims to portray the stories of Sikh warriors and bring their heritage to a wider audience across India. Akaal is set to release in theaters on April 10, 2025, and is anticipated to be a significant milestone for Punjabi cinema.
