Akhilesh Yadav condemns widespread corruption in Uttar Pradesh
Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, criticized the current government for widespread corruption. He said that the issues of corruption are a serious problem for business operations under the BJP government. His comments followed the suspension of Abhishek Prakash, a senior IAS officer, over allegations linked to project approvals. Yadav described the corruption as organized and benefiting those in power. He claimed that government officials and high-ranking politicians are involved in corrupt practices, all while pretending to promote industrial development. He suggested that suspending officials is merely a way for the government to hide deeper problems. Yadav stated that many bureaucrats merely act as scapegoats for the corruption that runs much deeper. He noted that complaints often arise when commissions are not properly distributed. The situation, he insisted, is troubling across various government departments. He also mentioned that even those within the BJP acknowledge high levels of corruption. He pointed to current infrastructure projects, like the Bundelkhand Expressway, as examples of how corruption affects public works. In his view, the issues with budgeting and fake companies claiming investment further illustrate the government's corrupt character.
